So Long, Sugar
Like we’ve said time and time again, cereal is traditionally dessert pretending to be breakfast. And far too many Americans fall for this trick, which ultimately spikes blood sugar levels from the moment they dive into the first bite. We reached out to our friend Holistic Health Coach & Certified Life Coach Laleh Khorsandi for her take on low sugar diets and why it’s beneficial to maintain low blood sugar levels throughout the day, beginning with breakfast.
“Most Americans consume more than double the amount of sugar than recommended. The reason being, most of the food in our grocery stores today contain HIDDEN sugars that spike and disrupt our blood sugar levels and leads us to craving MORE sugar just a few hours later.
A low sugar, anti-inflammatory diet can help with weight loss, promote glowing skin and prevent numerous health concerns like diabetes, stroke, heart disease and joint pain!
To put an end to this sugar craving rollercoaster, it’s important to check the quality of ingredients and eat blood-sugar-balancing breakfasts! Three Wishes should be in every kitchen because it’s made of REAL, quality ingredients, is high in protein and an amazing low-glycemic breakfast! Try my favorite flavor, Honey—it’ll take you back to enjoying that first crunchy bite of your favorite childhood cereal and watching cartoons.”
And there you have it folks! Starting your day with a low sugar, high protein meal will keep you feeling energized throughout, without that dreaded crash around 3 PM. It’s also important to note, especially for those with diabetes, that completely eliminating sugar entirely does not automatically guarantee low blood sugar levels. Cutting out foods that contain simple carbohydrates is also essential! Remember, with anything, moderation is key :)
