Still Sweet Without Wheat
Gluten free diets have been all the rage for quite some time now, and for good reason. Many individuals in the US are diagnosed with gluten sensitivities, a common diagnosis being celiac disease. Aside from this, there are also many benefits to keeping your gluten intake at a minimum, or not consuming gluten entirely.
For starters, gluten is a protein found in many grains, such as wheat, barley, rye, and triticale, that has been linked to a few different health problems. Now, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying gluten from time to time (I mean, who doesn’t love avocado toast?), but understanding the health benefits of limiting gluten intake is really important. Below are some of the top reasons as to why a gluten free diet is something you may want to consider, as cited from Gluten Free Living’s website.
There is evidence to support that limiting gluten helps with the following:
- Improving energy levels
- Eliminating bloat
- Promoting healthy weight gain
- Improving skin health
- Reducing headache frequency
